Rosalia Licciardi recently performined with the Bronx Opera in their double bill of Pagliacci and The Impressario where she is covering the role of Madame Pretenzione (M. Herz). Last summer she participated in the Masterclass and Concert Series at Opera Ischia in Italy. In 2005-2006, she participated in nine months of role study at Vincenzo Bellini Bel Canto Conservatorio di Musica. In Italy she performed several concerts including an operatic recital, sponsored by the city of Bagheria, Palermo, featuring arias from Lucia di Lammermoor, Die Zauberflote, Don Pasquale, and Les Contes d'Hoffman. At the Conservatory, Rosalia learned several roles including Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote and performed partial roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Gilda in Rigoletto. Prior to her experience in Italy, Rosalia last appeared in New York's Milbank Hall, performing arias from The Ballad of Baby Doe, Lucia di Lammermoor and Hamlet. She was a Soloist for several concerts with the Young People's Chorus of NYC including Mozart's Requiem and Faure's Requiem. Rosalia was also a Soloist with the NY Selah Ensemble. In May 2005, Rosalia performed Rizzi in Kalman's The Gypsy Princess with NY Metro Vocal Arts Ensemble as well as covering the title role, Sylva Varescu. Other New York credits include Cavalleria Rusticana with both Chelsea Opera Company and Regina Opera Company and Dewfairy in Hansel and Gretel at the Frederick Loewe Theatre. Other credits include Sweeney Todd with Theatreworks/USA and Maria daCapilihna in the New England Tour of The Miracle of Fatima, the Musical. Rosalia was a finalist in Opera Rinata's Competition in June 2006 and won a scholarship to Study with Opera Rinata of Torino. She also won third place in the Antonio Miserendino Competition in May 2006. In November 2006, Rosalia placed second in the Emerging Professional Division of the NATS Competition. She has participated in Master Classes with Zehava Gal, Eva Wymola, Michael Paul and Janet Perry. She holds a B.M. from New York University's Classical Voice program. |
